This was taken in '79, in a little tape studio which was constructed in the front bedroom of Bonnie's and my apartment on Detroit Street in Hollywood. To my knowledge it's the only surviving picture of the system. At the time it was a six panel. Two more were purchased used about a half year later, bringing it to eight total. You can barely see one of my Programmers on stage left, and my two Stepped and Smooth Generators and Triple Waveshaper to stage right. An interesting tidbit is that off to the left of the system , out of view of this picture, I had two Blacet modules (the Event Arranger and Digital Pattern Generator) made and installed into a briefcase, complete with paper faceplates which were covered with a sheet of acetate to match the Tcherepnin. Also off to the side was my infamous (i'm being kind here) Dokorder 1120 1/4 track four channel tape deck, which was one of the contributing factors in my losing interest in composing music for tape. Not only did it breakdown continually, but I only had one, which required continual track bouncing to compose anything of subtance, limiting my ability to affect spacial location of individual voices.
